Why does Ski insurance matter?

If during your trip you are responsible for accidentally injuring someone or damaging their property, there is a chance that they will sue you, so it is important to have this cover. This is particularly important if you are taking part in any activities where there is a risk of collision with another person, such as skiing or snowboarding.

What does Ski insurance cover?

If during your trip you are responsible for accidentally injuring someone or damaging their property, many travel insurance policies do cover your legal liability to pay compensation.

A travel insurance ski policy might provide cover for accidents involving winter sports, such as snowboarding and skiing, but this is often an optional feature in standard products. Check the Winter sports section for more information.

One important exclusion to note is that most ski travel policies do not cover you if you injure someone while driving a vehicle. If you plan to drive a car, hire a motorbike, jet ski or even a bicycle while you are on your trip, check to make sure you have adequate cover in place.
